SUBMISSIONS

PBUK welcomes submissions on all areas of British paintball. We don’t pay but we do offer full recognition and credit so if you love paintball and want to go for some fame and glory, or even a bit of publicity for your team, event or site, send in your stuff to editor@pbukmagazine.com

All articles should be typed in Word with details of author as you’d like it to be printed. Don’t worry about spelling and grammar – that will all be fixed by us before anything goes to print! PBUK reserves the right to edit any submissions prior to publication. Please don’t include photos within a Word document – pics should be sent as separate attachments.

All photos should be jpeg, high resolution, unedited. We print at 300dpi so please check the size of your pictures before you send them. Any files less than 400k will probably be low resolution. Files that are 1meg and larger tend to be ok. Please don’t use Photoshop effects – that will all be handled here. Please include details of the photographer to be credited in print and please only send pictures for which you own copyright.

REGULAR CONTRIBUTORS

PBUK has a great team of regulars who contribute to the content of the magazine, from tournament, scenario and field operations.

Al Murray: Al has been involved in paintball as a player since 1987. In 1999 he established the Scottish Paintball Centre near Glasgow which he still co-owns and in early 2003 formed Team SPC, widely recognised as one of the foremost scenario teams in the UK. SPC (now Tippmann Scotland) were crowned Best UK Scenario Team in 2005 and 2008. Al is also the creator of a successful series of scenario games and captains the UK Scenario Team for their expeditions both in the UK and abroad. For some time he has been writing about all things relating to scenario paintball in his capacity as Scenario Paintball Editor for PBUK Magazine. Al is also the driving force behind the UK’s leading online resource for scenario paintball, ukscenario.com.

Ash Kingdom: Going Postal’s Ash was roped into editing the Walk On News page after volunteering to help out with PBUK at a chance encounter at SPC’s Braveheart games. Playing at scenario events around the country, Ash keeps up to date with all the latest goings on with the teams, players and event organisers and has a regular column in the mag.

Russell Smith: Russ first encountered paintball in 1985 and joined the Manchester Lions in 1989. He started ref’ing in the same year at one of Bully’s events to raise money for the team and was made Field Ultimate because he was the only one with a pen. After that he became Tournament Ultimate at Steve’s 2K events and was integral in the formation and running of the PA Referees in 2003, contributing to the PA Rulebook and the referee training. He has taken teams of professional referees around the world, refereeing at events in the USA, Guam, Malaysia and Europe. He still thinks good referees are the most important part of the game and he still plays with the Man Lions when they venture out into the woods.

Dan Randon: Dan is a professional photographer and also the team captain and manager of Dye Hard so he knows paintball from the inside out, which is a massive advantage in his role as official photographer at both woodland and sup’air events across the country. He regularly covers the UK Masters and the big woodland scenario games and has been supplying cover shots to PBUK for the last two years.

Andy Newberry: Andy started playing paintball fifteen years ago at a site in Pretoria, South Africa, cowering in a small thicket of bamboo. Years later, he became an unlikely friend with someone from Rage SA, a very successful South African Sup' Air team and discovered tournament paintball. After immigrating to the UK, he married and discover a passion for photography, coming across scenario paintball in March 2008. He combined his two passions and shot people while they shot each other. He plays as often as he can with SPS (Special Paintball Service) while his other half Kat has the photography covered.

Nick ‘Klaus’ Jenkinson: Designer of our front covers, Nick has been involved in paintball both as a player and ref for years. He played for a couple of teams for a year or so down in London, then came up north played for the Barbarians, Storming Eagles, Atomic Roosters and Gangsters before starting Delta in 1997-98. He was one of the first PA Referees back in 2003 and has since taken on the world ref’ing at the Millenniums and the World Cup.
