ISSUE 51 - OUT NOW
Letter from the Editor - January 2010
It’s been a chilly start to the new year with the longest cold spell in decades but everyone’s twitching to get back onto the paintball field and the new season is about to start with a vengeance.
In this issue, we take a look back at last year and a look forward to this year! On the tournament side of the fence, Wendy gives a rundown on the UK Masters winners of 2009 and we have the full listing of Masters and Millennium dates for 2010. Russ throws in his two pennies worth on the 0.5 cal debate and we have news and dates of the A-Ball events at NPF.
Going into the woods, Al Murray is celebrating the publication of his book – The Handbook of Scenario Paintball; it’s a great read with lots of pics and sure to give every scenario paintballer plenty of ideas no matter how experienced. Read the review by Tim ‘Timboy’ Barnett on page 15.
We also have a feature on the return of Saving Ryan’s Privates and Diamond Wars, along with a full list of dates for this year’s scenario calendar. One of the highlights of the year looks to be the 10th anniversary of the Kenny’s games – has it really been ten years since John Sosta first donned Satan’s furry pants and Big Gay Al roamed the woods?
Onto field operations and the paintball site industry seems to be weathering the recession. Steve Bull has confirmed that the conference will be going ahead despite some doubt on take up.
Check out page 23 for more details. Manson give us an update on their latest insurance product and we have a review of some great props and signs from WEAREPAINTBALL if you’re looking to jazz up your site ready for the new season.
With packed calendars on all fronts, this year looks like it should be a cracking one all round. Keep warm, keep on ‘balling and have fun!
Until next time, Ed
